Preparedness Recommendations for 2009
fuel (gasoline and diesel) at reasonable prices. These prices won't
stay down for ever. Be prepared by buying several 30 or 55 gallon
drums so that you can fill them all up when prices reach their
bottom (I suspect we are pretty near the bottom right now). For
those with larger resources acquire new EPA fuel tanks for putting
underground at your retreat to store gasoline and diesel. Both
should have storage additives added to the barrels and tanks (PRI-D
for diesel and PRI-G or "Stabil" for gasoline). Gasoline tanks
should have air tight seals--keep cool inside a building or
underground. Do not allow to vent or it will go bad within a year
as the higher volatile liquids evaporate.
2) This is a good time to do any property acquisitions for retreats
or relocation. Property prices will bottom out in 2009 so now or in
the Spring is a good time to start looking. If you have to sell
your property to do so, this bad real estate climate may be a
problem for you, necessitating some creative financing. I don't
normally recommend debt, but some will have no choice if they want
to take advantage of the low prices, and hold on to their existing
home until prices recover. If your income stream is solid and you
don't carry much debt currently, consider acquiring your retreat or
future location now with the low subsidized loan rates that are
becoming available (slowly), and pay it off with the sale of your
other property when prices recover. If you are able to access these
new low subsidized rates to refinance your existing mortgage, do
so. Once inflation reignites, it will do so with a vengeance and by
the time you sell your existing property, the property you want
will also be higher in price (with some exceptions for slow growing
areas). In short 2009, is the year to find that better location if
you need one.
3) Take advantage of low commodity prices to stock up on the bulk
foods like wheat, rice and beans that should provide the vast
majority of your food storage. Like fuel, it is temporarily cheap
due to falling demand. Shortages will be severe in the future, so
don't delay in doing this. Everyone can afford to buy wheat and
rice in bulk - even if it's just a sack at a time. It's cheap.
4) Now that the new clean diesel technology has hit the markets,
start thinking about trading in your gasoline car for a super
economy diesel vehicle when you replace your current car. Hybrids
are too complex to repair in the long term, and replacing the
battery pack is $10k or more. The lessening in fuel prices will
also help reduce demand for these new high mileage diesels so you
won't have to pay a premium as people did this year. Remember, not
only does diesel get about 1/3 better mileage than gas (even
offsetting its higher price, which shouldn't last) but diesel fuel
stores almost indefinitely, unlike gasoline--and is less dangerous
to store as well. I recommend the VW Jetta station wagon with a
manual transmission.

An Analysis for Latter-day Saints - New World Order

• Ether 8:24. The modern Prophet Benson and the ancient Prophet Moroni speak to us in unison: "Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you." (See God, Family, Country, pp. 322 & 349; italics added.)
• The Prophet has said: If you use the scriptures as a guide, you know what the Book of Mormon has to say regarding murderous conspiracies in the last day and how we are to awake to our awful situation today (see Ether 8:18-25). I find certain elements in the Church do not like to read the Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants so much—they have too much to say about freedom." (The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p. 81; see also p. 42.)
The Prophet continues: The Book of Mormon warns us that when we see these murderous conspiracies in our midst, we should awaken to our awful situation (see Ether 8:24). Now, why should we awaken if the Lord is going to take care of us anyway? Let us suppose that it is too late to save freedom. It is still accounted unto us for righteousness' sake to stand up and fight. Some Book of Mormon prophets knew of the final desolate end of their nations, but they still fought on, and they saved some souls, including their own, by so doing. For, after all, the purpose of life is to prove ourselves, and the final victory will be for freedom."

“Joseph Smith said that the Book of Mormon was the ‘keystone of our religion’ and the ‘most correct’ book on earth. This most correct book on earth states that the downfall of two great American civilizations came as a result of secret conspiracies whose desire was to overthrow the freedom of the people. ‘And they have caused the destruction of this people of whom I am now speaking,’ says Moroni, ‘and also the destruction of the people of Nephi.’ Now undoubtedly Moroni could have pointed out many factors that led to the destruction of the people, but notice how he singled out the secret combinations, just as the Church today could point out many threats to peace, prosperity, and the spread of God’s work, but it has singled out the greatest threat as the godless conspiracy. There is no conspiracy theory in the Book of Mormon — it is a conspiracy fact.”

Obama will not end the occupation of Iraq

As Jeremy Scahill writes, Obama doesn't even plan to end the occupation of Iraq. "The New York Times is reporting about an 'apparent evolution' in president-elect Barack Obama's thinking on Iraq, citing his recent statements about his plan to keep a residual force in the country and his pledge to 'listen to the recommendations of my commanders' as Obama prepares to assume actual command of US forces.
"The reality is there is no 'evolution.' Anyone who took the time to cut past Barack Obama's campaign rhetoric of 'change' and bringing an 'end' to the Iraq war realized early on that the now-president-elect had a plan that boiled down to a down-sizing and rebranding of the occupation. While he emphasized his pledge to withdraw U.S. 'combat forces' from Iraq in 16 months (which may or may not happen), he has always said that he intends to keep 'residual forces' in place for the foreseeable future."
Given the size of US military bases in Iraq, "residual forces" could well be over half the existing force. Obama also indicated this week that he will double the number of troops in Afghanistan. The anti-war movement that backed Obama will not be infinitely tolerant of these excuses, though they will have no place else to turn.

Obama's Globalist Handler

Obama's new Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will be his handler. Emanuel goes way back with Democratic politics starting as director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 1988. He is known as somewhat of a fanatic in his private lobbying for what he wants in Congress. Some of his most notorious episodes have been documented in a Wikipedia biography: "Emanuel is known for his 'take-no-prisoners attitude' that has earned him the nickname 'Rahm-bo.' Emanuel is said to have 'mailed a rotten fish to a former coworker after the two parted ways.' On the night after the 1996 election, 'Emanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign, grabbed a steak knife and began rattling off a list of betrayers, shouting 'Dead! ... Dead! ... Dead!' and plunging the knife into the table after every name.'" According to Larry Klayman of Judicial Watch, "Rep. Rahm Emmanuel, (D-IL) Emmanuel ran political interference for Bill and Hillary Clinton in the Clinton White House." I think we can expect more of the same for Obama.
Constitution - Hanging by a Thread

According to a few sources, President Bush angrily opposed any mention of the Constitution when he and others were gathered together to brainstorm how best to trample the document, calling it just a “piece of paper” (the actual quote containing some more colorful language). When reports of this exchange were published, many were justifiably shocked and appalled at the behavior of a man who has publicly sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution.
But while such behavior is repulsive and tyrannical, Bush was right—the Constitution is just a piece of paper.
The Constitution is a contract that exists between “we the people” and our federal government. In reality, the document itself is nothing more than a collection of much-debated words scrawled on parchment. It is a historical wonder and a great collector’s item, but at the end of the day, it’s just a paper with words on it.
Like any other set of words, the Constitution only has power if the value we apply to the words leads us to honor and fulfill their meaning. A contract between two people that nobody enforces is worth nothing more than the sheet of paper upon which it is written. Likewise, without a group of people who respect and implement the Constitutional contract created by the words found on the document, its only value is that of the price it will fetch at a collector’s auction.
Ignoring the Constitution—an action which happens more often than not in Washington, D.C.—renders null and void any attempt to establish authority and restraint on power. Without a willing and authorized party to enforce its provisions and ensure they are obeyed, the document serves no purpose and transforms itself into historical eye candy.
With leaders like President Bush in power, and a cowardly and complicit Congress and Supreme Court, the checks and balances created by the document fade into oblivion and leave us with a piece of paper. Bush was right: our failure to enforce the contract created by the Constitution has resulted in it being treated as little more than the animal parchment and ink used to create it.

America in Danger — What You Must Know to Protect Yourself

Former White House advisor to three U.S. Presidents — George Bush, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford — Stephen Studdert knows Washington as an insider with privileged information, contacts and insight. Unfortunately these days this knowledge is a burden and the normally optimistic Studdert admits that he’s a worried man.
He has written America in Danger — What You Must Know to Protect Yourself to raise a warning voice saying that such a complexity of factors influencing American independence and the economy are upon us that it is difficult for most citizens to gain perspective. However, it is essential to have this understanding to be adequately prepared.

Judge Not Unrighteously

A common tactic used by individuals who wish to silence a person making a judgment on a moral issue is to cite the Lord’s own words in their support: “Judge not, that ye be not judged”. The attempt to use these words to prevent any judgment from taking place is not only absurd, but scripturally incorrect.
For starters, one need only look as far as the Joseph Smith Translation which adds context and clarity to the Savior’s words. In doing so, we learn that the Savior instead was telling his disciples to not judge unrighteously. Further, he counseled them to “judge righteous judgment”, in effect instructing them to judge others—but based on the correct moral standard God had given them.
Ignoring this insight, people who try to end a discussion with an appeal to the “judge not” line of scripture evidently advocate a “live and let live policy”, where no individual judgment occurs, and thus each person implicitly condones and supports whatever his neighbor chooses to do. This warped version of the golden rule shirks our responsibility to stand for what is right—instead of advocating doing unto others what we would have them do unto us, we’re told to not do unto others what we don’t want them to do unto us.
Conversely, the Lord would have us act instead of being acted upon—taking a proactive stance to work in righteousness, stand for truth, and spread the light of the gospel. The golden rule has the right idea: we should do good unto others, not simply not do bad things.

Time to Wake Up....Please!!

President Packer has numerous times in the last half decade stated "we cannot ignore Moroni's warning that we 'must awake to a sense of our awful situation.'" Of course most LDS People don't seem to grasp what he's talking about, even after Gordon B. Hinckley admonished the whole church to "read again" the marvelous Book of Mormon before year end in 2005. President Hinckley even sought to help us grasp what the book would teach us, citing "scheming leaders" of whom the people succumbed, and he also stated the book was "as current as the morning newspaper." Current as the Morning Newspaper? Most truly don't think so, or they fail to make the parallels and obvious connections.
Ezra Taft Benson too mentioned Moroni's warning that Pres. Packer has been citing. In the last address Ezra Taft Benson stood at the pulpit and delivered under power of his own voice just before being "withdrawn from among the people," he warned:
“I testify that wickedness is rapidly expanding in every segment of our society. (See D&C 1:14- 16; 84:49-53.) It is more highly organized, more cleverly disguised, and more powerfully promoted than ever before. Secret combinations lusting for power, gain, and glory are flourishing. A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world. (See Ether 8:18-25.)” (Conference Report, Oct.. 1988, Ensign, Nov. 1988, p. 87.)
I testify that the church and kingdom of God is increasing in strength. Its numbers are growing, as is the faithfulness of its faithful members. It has never been better organized or equipped to perform its divine mission.
I testify that as the forces of evil increase under Lucifer’s leadership and as the forces of good increase under the leadership of Jesus Christ, there will be growing battles between the two until the final confrontation. As the issues become clearer and more obvious, all mankind will eventually be required to align themselves either for the kingdom of God or for the kingdom of the devil. As these conflicts rage, either secretly or openly, the righteous will be tested. God’s wrath will soon shake the nations of the earth and will be poured out on the wicked without measure. (See JS—H 1:45; D&C 1:9.) But God will provide strength for the righteous and the means of escape; and eventually and finally truth will triumph. (See 1 Ne. 22:15–23.)

An Obama Nation

Libertarian icon Lew Rockwell didn't pull any punches about what an Obama nation will mean in the long term: "I predict that, under Obama, taxes and government spending will increase, government regulation and control over our lives will increase, economic disorder will increase, state police powers will increase, and imperialistic wars will continue unimpeded (and likely increase). In short, the political establishment will continue to pursue its agenda - without a break in meter - regardless of who it places on the throne. In the words of Emma Goldman: 'If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal.'" True.
I don't think Americans will ever wake up, however. The truth is too hard to face. Blindness to reality and false optimism rule the day. These two illusions go hand in hand in facilitating the media-driven agenda to fool an unthinking populace into continually trusting the establishment to lead, failure after failure. They are truly experts at manipulating the public mind. The PTB(Powers that be) have shown that fear of a financial collapse can drive almost all people everywhere into doing whatever the establishment leaders tell them. And when the people demand change, they give them Team B--new faces, but establishment insiders just the same.
I predict we will never have peace in this world again. Obama's globalist advisors (CFR team B--pretending to be different and even in opposition to CFR team A that handled Bush) will ensure that. Iran is still on the top of the list for the next intervention. Israel will be embroiled in another war with the Palestinians, Hezbollah and the Syrians. North Korea will still be given a free ride in all its ugly tyranny (to someday serve as a trigger for an even greater world conflict), and Russia and China will continue to rise in military might, unimpeded by administration policy until they are too great a threat to deter. That great final threat of world war probably won't mature until a subsequent administration--when a warmongering globalist Republican returns to office.

The role of the media

"Almost everyone who gets this minimum dose of daily news thinks that they know what is going on in the world. This is not so, even though the media rarely tells an outright lie. What writers and editors do is purposefully omit key pieces of information that would significantly change people’s opinion about what is being presented."
I saw an example of this yesterday sitting in a waiting room. The news magazine sitting in front of me showed a ballot with the names McCain, Obama, and "None of the Above". There are in fact 6 candidates running for President. I've heard people say, "I don't like either candidate, but I need to choose one or the other". In past years haven't we had a choice for a third or fourth? Ralph Nader was in the news in past elections. He is running this year. Did anybody know that? If not, why? If the other major party candidates were not liked, why did the media not push the other candidates running as they have in the past? (BTW, I do not support Ralph Nader)
The media controls public opinion whether you think it or not.
"Critical analysis of current events is a complex process that is not systematized or rigid. All the information you see or gather is, generally, a combination of truth, half-truths, and error. Filtering out the truth begins with finding reliable sources, as well as critically scrutinizing sources that are known to have a specific bias." Read More
The McCain "Miracle"

Last fall, John McCain lost many of his supporters due to his support for the defeated and highly unpopular 2007 Congressional "Amnesty Bill" that President Bush kept pushing.
By December, his campaign was all but over. We were expecting to hear any day that McCain had dropped out of the race.
Then, out of the blue, the media began simultaneously to publish John McCain supporting articles. This blatant manipulation of public opinion breathed new life into his all-but-dead campaign.
McCain's support for amnesty clearly identifies him as a North American Union supporting globalist, and is a member of the CFR. (Bill Clinton's Georgetown mentor and CFR member Carroll Quigley states: “The Council on Foreign Relations is the American branch of a society which originated in England, which believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one world rule established)
Who will Destroy America?

"If America is destroyed, it may be by Americans who salute the flag, sing the national anthem, march in patriotic parades, cheer Fourth of July speakers - normally good Americans who fail to comprehend what is required to keep our country strong and free - Americans who have been lulled away into a false security." (April 1968, General Conference Report)
Do people really know Barak Obama
Jerome L. Sherman of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that "the two presidential candidates disagree on a key foundation of any future draft: Mr. Obama supports a requirement for both men and women to register with the Selective Service, while Mr. McCain doesn't think women should have to register." That's enough to drive a lot of Americans to vote for McCain (if the press would make an issue of it). They won't.
While I don't recommend voting for either Obama or McCain, here's an interesting listing of "100 REASONS NOT TO VOTE FOR OBAMA" http://frwest.blogspot.com/2008/09/more-than-100-reasons-to-vote-against.html Most of these would apply to McCain as well (if you understand that the same people control both candidates).
Four questions for LDS about Political Candidates
Firstly, is the proposal, the policy, or the idea being promoted right as measured by the gospel of Jesus Christ? I assure you it is much easier for one to measure a proposed policy by the gospel of Jesus Christ if he has accepted the gospel and is living it.
Secondly, is it right as measured by the Constitution of this land and the glorious principles embodied in that Constitution? Now that suggests that we must read and study the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, that we might know what principles are embodied therein.
Thirdly, we might well ask the question: Is it right as measured by the counsel of the living oracles of God? It is my conviction, my brethren and sisters, that these living oracles are not only authorized, but are obligated to give counsel to this people on any subject which is vital to the welfare of this people and the upbuilding of the kingdom of God. So, that measure should be applied. Is it right as measured by the counsel of the living oracles of God?
Fourthly, what will be the effect on the morale and the character of the people if this or that policy is adopted? After all, as a Church we are interested in building men and women, building character, because character is the one thing we make in this world and take with us into the next. It must never be sacrificed for expediency.Duties of the President of the United States

What is the job of the President of the United States? Is it to protect its people? Is it to fight to liberate the world from evil? Is it to lead out as the world leader? Let's look at the oath that the President of the United States takes when entering this office.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Soon we will have the opportunity to vote for the next President of the United States. As citizens of this, the United States, it is our duty and responsibility to determine whether your candidate will honor the oath that they take. Find out their voting record and stance regarding their support of the Constitution.
